A slow-growing cultivar, to a height of about 5m. Deciduous, maple-like, lobed leaves are green edged with deep yellow. In autumn they turn deep red-purple in autumn with yellow edges. Insignificant flowers in late spring are followed by spiky fruit capsules in autumn; good autumn colour
