The planting will be natural wildflower style planting with some shade-loving plants towards the edges of the woodland areas

Pinus sylvestris (Scots pine)

A large, evergreen tree up to 25m tall, with the upper trunk and branches turning an orange-brown colour, and developing a picturesque, irregular outline with maturity. Twisted grey-green needles are borne in pairs. Cones are around 5cm in length.

Dryopteris filix-mas (male fern)

A robust, deciduous fern that forms a shuttlecock-like tuft of lance-shaped fronds, which reaches up to 1.2m in height.

Filipendula ulmaria

Filipendula ulmaria (meadowsweet)

A vigorous clump-forming perennial that reaches up to 90cm tall, with pinnately divided leaves. The leaflets are strongly toothed and often whitish beneath. Fragrant creamy-white flowers in dense irregular terminal clusters appear on erect leafy stems in summer.

Geranium pratense (meadow cranesbill)

A clump-forming perennial that gets to about 60-90cm tall, with hairy stems and deeply lobed, mid-green foliage. The saucer-shaped, white, blue or violet flowers reach 4.5cm in size and appear in early to mid-summer.

Leucanthemum vulgare

Leucanthemum vulgare (ox-eye daisy)

A rhizomatous perennial that reaches up to 90cm tall, with clumps of dark green spoon-shaped basal leaves 10cm long and shorter stem leaves. Solitary white, daisy-like flowerheads with yellow disk florets are produced in late spring and early summer above the foliage.
