Cercis siliquastrum (Judas tree)

A bushy, deciduous small tree. Leaves to 10cm in width, broadly heart-shaped. Flowers rosy-pink, pea-shaped, in clusters on the older wood. Fruit a conspicuous flattened purplish pod to 12cm in length.

Cupressus sempervirens

Cupressus sempervirens (Italian cypress)

A medium-sized, long-lived, evergreen tree, reaching 45m in height, with a narrow, columnar habit. The dark green, scale-like leaves, 2-5mm long, are held in dense sprays on the rounded shoots of ascending branches. Cones are globose to oblong in shape, 2-3cm across, with scales having small bosses.

Dodonaea viscosa ‘Purpurea’ (purple hop bush)

An evergreen, variable shrub or small tree to 5m tall. Wavy-margined, elliptic to oblong leaves up to 13cm long are a deep reddish-purple. Insignificant summer flowers are followed by pinkish-red winged fruits.

A strong-growing lily forming a clump of erect stems bearing whorls of narrow leaves and large racemes of nodding, glossy purplish-pink flowers with recurved petals in early summer.

Cercis canadensis ‘Eternal Flame’

A deciduous, fairly small multi-stemmed tree with glossy red leaves that gradually turn to beautiful shades of orange and yellow from May through until the autumn. Once mature, dark pink flowers appear on the stems in mid-spring, before the leaves.
